Itinerary

We will start the day by picking you up from the accommodation. On the way, we will visit one of the argan oil cooperatives if you are interested in oil, especially for the women. Then, we will drive across the high atlas mountains on the pass of Tichka, the fastest route to the Sahara desert.

The first interesting thing we will explore on this day is the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a Berber fortress where many movies were shot. For instance, they shot the movie Lawrence of Arabia and the British-American Drama, the Gladiator. Also, its a place where the Touareg Berbers used to e-commerce before leaving for Europe.

Not far from the Kasbah, we will visit the city of cinema, Ouarzazate. There, we will have a stop at the oscar studio, where they get the material to make movies in the Kasbah. After that, we will drive through the route of thousand Kasbahs to arrive at the rose valley. There, we can have a stop to enjoy a glass of tea or coffee and to visit one of the cooperative where they make rose flower products.

Before we check in the accommodation in Dades Gorges, we will make a stop to admire and take photos of the mountains shaped as the monkey toes. Then, we will visit the curves of Tissdrine, where Cadillac, the American car made a crazy advertisement.

We’ll begin the day by picking you up from your accommodation. If you’re interested, we can stop at an argan oil cooperative along the way, where women often produce the oil. After that, we’ll drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tichka Pass, the quickest way to the Sahara Desert.

Our first main stop will be the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a historic Berber fortress where movies like “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Gladiator” were filmed. This site was also an important trading post for the Touareg Berbers before they traveled to Europe.

Next, we’ll head to Ouarzazate, known as the “city of cinema.” Here, we’ll visit the Oscar Studio, where they make movie props for the Kasbah. Then, we’ll continue along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” until we reach the Rose Valley. We’ll take a break here for some tea or coffee and visit a cooperative where rose flower products are made.

Before we check into our accommodation in Dades Gorges, we’ll stop to admire and take photos of the mountains shaped like monkey toes. Lastly, we’ll visit the winding roads of Tissdrine, where Cadillac filmed an exciting commercial.

On the third day of our 7-day tour from Casablanca, we’ll head to one of the highlights of our Morocco trip: Merzouga. We’ll drive south to Tinghir, where we’ll take a different route to visit the Grand Canyons of Todgha. This is a beautiful spot where many people come to relax by the river that flows through the mountains. Afterward, we’ll stop to see an old irrigation system with wells that provide water to the surrounding oasis.

In the afternoon, we’ll reach Merzouga, right at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here, we’ll take you on a camel ride adventure. The camels will be ready and waiting when we arrive. You can leave your luggage in the car, hop on the camels, and ride across the Erg Chebbi dunes. We’ll stop at the top of the dunes to take in the views and watch the sunset. Afterward, your camel guide will lead you to a Berber camp where you’ll spend the night, experiencing life as a nomad. The night sky will be filled with stars, including the Milky Way. Our Berber team will entertain you with music played on drums and share stories about the desert.

On the fifth day  from Casablanca, we’ll drive through the High and Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop will be in Erfoud, where we’ll visit the market so you can try fresh dates. After that, we’ll continue to the Ziz Valley, known for its date production, and pause at a panoramic viewpoint.

Before heading into the mountains, we’ll make a quick stop at the Errachidia Dam, the largest water source for the entire province.

Next, we’ll visit the cedar forest, where you can feed the Barbary Macaque monkeys, a unique species still living in the Atlas. Afterward, we’ll drive to Ifrane, where we’ll stop to take photos with the carved Atlas lion statue. Finally, we’ll continue to Fes, where you’ll spend the night in a riad.

We’ll spend the day exploring Fes, with a local guide joining our driver to show you the top sights.

First, we’ll visit the King’s Palace, a stunning Ksar with seven golden gates. Then, we’ll head to the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter. Afterward, we’ll drive to Borj Nord for a panoramic view of Fes El Bali. If you’re interested, we’ll also visit a ceramic cooperative, as Fes is known for its pottery.

Next, we’ll start a walking tour of the old Medina, known as Fes El Bali. We’ll enter through the Blue Gate, Bab Boujloud, which is the main entrance to the Medina. From there, we’ll visit the Al Karaouine University, the oldest university in the world, and the Al Bou Inania Madrasa, an old school with beautiful architecture.

We’ll also explore the Safarin spice square and its nearby madrasa, another historic school where children learn the Quran. We’ll finish our tour with a visit to Chouara, one of Fes’s seven tanneries, where leather is made and sold. After the tour, we’ll take you back to your accommodation.

We’ll continue our 7-day tour of Morocco by visiting the Blue City, Chefchaouen. This city is about a 3-hour drive from Fes, located in the Rif Mountains between two peaks shaped like goat horns. The name Chefchaouen comes from the Berber word “Iskaouen,” meaning horns.

Once we arrive, we’ll visit the Kasbah Museum, the first building in Chefchaouen, where you’ll see photos and learn about the city’s history.

After that, we’ll take a walk through the medina to admire the blue-colored walls and visit the square of Wtat Lhmam. This is a popular spot where many people relax at the restaurants, enjoying tea and the music played by locals.

Next, we’ll stroll to the Ras El Ma river, where local women wash blankets and clothes. Finally, we’ll hike up the mountain to watch the sunset before taking you to your accommodation.

Afterward, we’ll return to Casablanca. There, we’ll visit the Hassan II Mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco, with a 210-meter minaret. This mosque is one of the few in Morocco that allows tourists inside. Finally, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your departure.
